As a child, I was naturally outgoing and curious about people’s stories. I was the quintessential ‘talker,’ making friends easily and chattering endlessly—much to my teachers’ dismay.
I dreamed of making a positive impact in people's lives and doing it on my own terms. This early drive and curiosity ultimately paved the way for my future in entrepreneurship.
In high school, I took a leap and ran for Secretary of my Senior class. Standing on stage, my knees were shaking, and my stomach was queasy—but to my surprise, I delivered a speech that left the audience applauding. That moment sparked something in me. I realized I had a gift for connecting with people, and more importantly, I loved it.
This newfound passion made me curious about what made people tick and how to communicate ideas in a way that moved others.
I dove into studying psychology, sociology, marketing, and sales —fields that revealed the power of words and strategies to inspire action. I discovered the thrill of crafting messages that helped others break out of their shells, and I found purpose in seeing people light up when they embraced a new perspective.
That’s when entrepreneurship called to me. I pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Business with a focus on Sales and Marketing and launched my career, traveling the country helping apartment communities stand out from their competition. Although I worked for a company, I was working alone, as a consultant at each community. With every challenge, I saw entrepreneurship as the perfect blend of creativity and purpose. I began to absorb everything I could about successful entrepreneurs, learning from their stories and strategies, and my passion only deepened after marrying an entrepreneur myself.
As a newlywed, working in Corporate America, I longed for both time and financial freedom. Like many aspiring entrepreneurs,
I experimented with various business ideas, or side-hustles, and faced my share of failures. I tried everything from creating home decor items to crafting cigar box purses, thriving on the blend of sales and creativity. But juggling product-making and selling at craft fairs in my limited free time quickly led to burnout. These setbacks, however, taught me invaluable lessons in resilience and adaptability.
Then I discovered Network Marketing and immediately fell in love. It offered a way to sell products I didn’t have to make—products that genuinely helped people and I could work around my corporate job and family. It was a win-win. I connected with like-minded women passionate about growth and learned how to tailor my message to meet my audience’s needs. Every success and setback became a stepping stone, shaping my skills in sales and marketing.
After a decade in Network Marketing, I grew weary of the relentless sales cycle—constant product launches, hype, and the pressure to hit the next rank or bonus. It felt like retail, always sacrificing family time during the holidays to chase the next sale. I needed something more sustainable and stable.
My breakthrough came when I discovered digital marketing. I started by creating social media graphics to help others save time and strengthen their branding. Wanting to expand my skill set, I dove into courses on SEO, social media marketing, email campaigns, course creation and pay-per-click advertising. Armed with this knowledge, I launched a new venture selling social media courses. I created engaging content, optimized my website for search engines, and built an email list to nurture leads. The results were transformative—my client base grew rapidly, and revenue soared. I realized digital marketing’s power to reach a broad audience and convert interest into sales. It wasn’t luck; it was the result of strategy, consistent effort, and the right tools.
Today, my digital marketing agency is thriving, and I’m passionate about helping others achieve the same success.
